Why start a new chapter?

While some of our projects are published online and can be accessed globally, many of the most important and impactful events are held in local venues. As the PSI continues to grow, new chapters will be created all across Canada in order for our events to reach a greater number of curious people. These events allow for audience interaction which can significantly improve the overall experience.

The second PSI chapter will be opening in Calgary, AB, Canada. We are looking for a team of dedicated volunteers to make up the Chapter Council which consists of a core group of people dedicated to the advancement of science. Each of the council directors will chair at least one committee that performs the day-to-day operations of the chapter, like producing public events or online materials, or helping to grow their chapter. The Chapter President will hold regular meetings (weekly or biweekly) with the chapter directors to set goals, track committee progress, and investigate any issues that may arise. Check out the more detailed descriptions of the positions we need to fill.
