At the PSI, we try to eliminate the barrier between science and the public.  We think everyone should have the opportunity to have their questions answered in a way that doesn't rely on trusting experts, and that scientists should have more resources for explaining their discoveries and other important concepts to the public. The PSI is operated exclusively by volunteers and funded by grants and donations. We help in a number of ways, including:

  • Public science talks about important concepts

  • Public discussions and Q&As with scientists

  • A podcast that answers questions and breaks down concepts to an understandable level

  • Science summaries, which are one page documents that summarize all of the current literature on one subject, to help people look into it themselves.

  • Policy commentary, recommendations, and explanations from the scientific perspective for the citizen who wants to be more informed

All of the work is done so that everyone can understand it.
